NASA has sketched out maps, which show exactly how scorching hot our planet Earth will become by the year 2100.
It’s getting hotter and hotter and it’s not just because summer is simply progressing into our lives. Our planet’s temperatures are increasing and will continue increasing in the upcoming future. By the end of this century the temperatures will be scorching hot and NASA has sketched out maps to show us exactly how hot our future will be.
Using tons and tons of data (over 11 terabytes) NASA’s teams have conducted studies in order to craft a prediction of what the world will feel like by the year 2100. And the results are more than shocking. The scientists have predicted that by 2100 the carbon dioxide levels, which can be found in the planet Earth’s atmosphere, will reach nearly 935ppm. In comparison, nowadays the carbon dioxide levels are 400ppm. In other words, the carbon dioxide today represents around 0.04% of our atmosphere, while by 2100 it will rise up to 0.1%. If neither of these numbers present you with any significant information, here’s something that might ring a bell – Celsius degrees.
According to NASA’s studies, by the end of the century our planet will be so hot that it will reach up to more than 45C in places with an average of 38C like Africa and South America. Unless you’re living in a place like Dubai, you probably won’t be able to picture yourself living in such heat.
NASA’s maps and predictions were made public for one purpose only – to help humanity prepare for what’s coming up. According to the official statement the agency made regarding their findings, we now have the information we need in order to find a way to prepare ourselves for the upcoming heat, to treat our planet better and to think about the consequences of our actions.source
