New Footage Of The Tianjin Explosion May Be Most Dramatic Yet

An explosion rocked the city of Tianjin in China, killing 50 people and injuring hundreds more. The incident happened at a warehouse for hazardous chemicals and caused a huge fireball that could be seen from space. Twelve firefighters are among those who lost their lives and reports say that 36 people are still missing. The monumental blast was caught on camera by dozens of people across the country, who collectively posted the footage onto social media – and now somebody has compiled six significant angles into one video. But one piece of footage also uploaded to YouTube made its way onto Reddit today, and it may just be the most devastating one minute of footage I have seen in my lifetime. Reports suggest that the man who filmed the angle, and his family, are safe and well – and that in the footage he told them all to go and hide in the bathroom. Wise. Many commenters also expressed how happy they were to hear the man speak at the very end of the video, and we mir

Dog Gets Thrown Over Animal Shelter’s Fence Like It Was Trash

A video of a dog being thrown over the wall of a Spanish animal shelter has gone viral after being caught by cameras and then shared online by the shelter – Protectora de animales Os palleiros- in north-west Spain. Footage clearly shows a car pulling up and a man getting out with the dog, trying and failing to throw the dog over the wall of the shelter and then receiving help from another man, to finally get the dog over the fence, with the animal landing with a thump on the hard concrete below. The video has now been shared nearly 60,000 times, with the two guys receiving widespread condemnation – and rightly so. You don’t have to be an animal lover to know this is point blank wrong, and that the poor dog certainly doesn’t deserve to be treated like that, and frankly, good on the animal shelter for posting the video, shaming the guys and at least trying to draw some attention to the deplorable behaviour. Police are now trying to find the two men, with the shelter claim

The FDA has approved the first drug made by a 3D printer

3D printing, a technology still in search of a market, may have just found a home in the world of medicine. The US Food and Drug Administration approved an epilepsy medicine called Spritam that is made by 3D printers, making it the first 3D-printed product that the FDA has approved for use inside the human body. Aprecia, the pharmaceutical company behind Spritam, says that its new type of tablet is made by 3D-printing layers of the powdered drug, binding the layers of powder together, and then blowing away the excess powder. The drug’s unique structure allows it to dissolve considerably faster than the average pill, which as the news site 3DPrint points out is a boon to seizure sufferers who often are prescribed large, hard-to-swallow pills. Aprecia also says 3D printing will allow doctors to know that the medicine they’re prescribing delivers the exact dose intended, as each pill will be completely uniform. This could prove to be an important step for integrating 3D print
